About Me
AYLIN LIVANELI
ENTREPRENEUR, WRITER AND ARTIST
Born in Ankara, Aylin Livaneli attended the International School of Stockholm. Later, she settled in Paris with her family and finished secondary school at the École Active Bilingue. While in secondary school, Aylin Livaneli studied voice and, soon after returning to Turkey, launched into music full time. She recorded and published five albums in her twenties, selling millions. Aylin Livaneli simultaneously worked at Interfilm, the family business, to learn the intricacies of film production. Spurred by a desire to try out other areas, Livaneli dropped music in favour of further education and studied literature at New York University. Livaneli then moved to London where she studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE.)
During her university years, Aylin Livaneli worked as a columnist for the national dailies, Hürriyet, Milliyet and Vatan and the magazine Aktüel, and also published The Garden of Children in Exile, a book of essays on her childhood in Stockholm. Quickly popular with readers, this book drew acclaim from critics far and wide.
Livaneli returned to Turkey in 2008 and published the English album Love is the Answer, recorded with Anders Hansson –an ABBA producer- in Stockholm; this album was something of a jubilee œuvre for her.
Livaneli later added the FILM FACTORY ENTERTAINMENT –founded in partnership with Imaj Entertainment- to IDA Music, the company she co-owned together with her mother. In 2009 Livaneli also revived INTERFILM, originally founded by her family in 1987, under the new name INTERFILM MEDIA & ENTERTAINMENT. Determined to focus on management and investment in the media, entertainment and show businesses, Livaneli, a young entrepreneur and businesswoman, is also planning to branch out into different investment areas in the future.
